March 16th

Hey Y’all!

This week was pretty crazy! It went from rain to hot to rain to cloudy to rain to hot and all over the place! Tornados are just around the corner (Don’t worry mom we have a shelter to go to) and the trees are starting to bloom and birds are starting to sing and it smells like spring! (That rhymed haha)

Anyways, this week was good. We taught Marty and Isabelle and Charlie (Dad and 2 kids) and set a Baptismal date with them for April 11th! So exciting!! Marty and Isabelle are getting baptized that day for sure but Charlie isn’t quite sure yet. We've been all over the place and talking to everyone! We taught our Atheist investigator Bill and that was interesting. That dude is too smart for his own good. I had no Idea what he was talking about so I just nodded and said yeah sure mhmm... anyways that was fun.

Then we were coming home from an appt Saturday night and we were late for our curfew. We were a ways away from home and my chain broke on my bike. But because of the tools I had and knowing how to fix it we made it home safe and sound! (Shout out to Peter Reaksecker for teaching me all the Bike stuff I know!) And now my bike works just fine! Anyways I knew that being a prepared Eagle Scout and mechanic would come in handy on my mission! Haha.

But other than that we got threatened with a gun and told to leave, drilled with questions from a drunk Baptist and talked to a Horus worshipper. It was a crazy week! I love it though!

This week I have been thinking a lot about the atonement and what it truly means. In Alma 42 it talks about God and the Laws He has to follow or He would cease to be God. Because we came to earth there are 2 laws specifically that apply to us. The Law of justice and the fact that as Mortal humans we all will die. With the Law of Justice "there is a law given, a punishment affixed, and a repentance granted." When we break that law (The commandments the Lord has given us) we must be punished for that. But also since we will die we could not return to live with God after life on earth. So since the Savior came and suffered the consequence for all those times we sin and break those laws, we don’t have to suffer those consequences. But we must still repent and ask forgiveness. He came and overcame sin and Death which makes it possible for us to return to our Heavenly Father again. Mercy Satisfies the Law of Justice and we can overcome sin. What a blessing! It’s taken me a while to figure all that out and comprehend just how much our heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us and the mercy they have for us. And I still got more to learn! Read Alma Chapter 42. It’s an amazing one! Love y’all and have a good safe week!

Hey Y’all

This week has been something else... I don’t know where to start. It was cold to start off the week them Wednesday it snowed hard!  Elder Lloyd and I were biking when it started to snow so we got caught in that haha. No fun! I don’t suggest biking in the snow for anyone who was thinking about doing that.
So this week I went on 2 exchanges. One with the Zone Leader Elder Park on Thursday to Friday, then another with the new missionary Elder Roundy on Friday to Saturday. That was all nuts!
Then throughout the week we taught a bunch of lessons to investigators, less actives and some members too. Then Wednesday the snowstorm happened and we were stuck inside all day. Then Friday we set up for a wedding at the church and Saturday we attended and took down the wedding. Then Sunday we lost an hour, and had ward council early in the morning and both Elder Lloyd and I got sick. Whew! Crazy stuff!
But regardless this week was full of spiritual experiences and wonderful testimony building experiences too. As of now I am spiritually and physically drained! I am so glad that it’s preparation day! haha
I am so glad to be out here in the crazy bipolar wonderful state of Oklahoma serving the Lord and helping others build their faith and come closer to Christ and our Father in Heaven! What a wonderful work! (D&C 52:9-10) We are called to spread the Gospel 2 by 2 and declare repentance unto all nations! It is the best calling and it is all of our responsibility! Keep up the good work y’all and read and pray everyday! Love y’all!

3-2-15

Hey Y’all!

This has been a crazy week! It started out with lots of snow on Monday so for preparation day we were stuck in our apartment. Then we spent Tuesday shoveling snow. Then Friday the snow machine malfunctioned and it snowed all flippin day! We were grounded again and couldn’t go out!

So Friday, Saturday and Sunday were long days. Church was cancelled and we shoveled a lot of snow but we still were able to talk to people and be missionaries (:

Other than that we have had a good week. We had a lesson with a new investigator, Bill who is an atheist. That was interesting!

I have been studying about the Savior and His atonement in Matthew Mark Luke and John and comparing them all together. In the book of Luke I love when the Savior says let this cup pass from me but not my will but thy will be done. This is such a powerful statement. We can also apply this to every aspect of our lives. Often times we want to do something but the Lord has a different plan in mind. We must always remember that the Lord knows what’s best for us and we need to always counsel with the Lord in everything we do as it says in Alma 37:37. “Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

The Gospel is such a blessing to have in our lives and I love sharing it with others and bringing joy to all those who will hear our words! We are so blessed and I am so thankful for all of y’alls love, support and prayers!
Love y’all and have a great week!
