2-16
Hey Y’all!
This week
has been wild!! It seems like we were doing everything and doing nothing at the
same time! It’s been wild ride that’s for sure. Longer than 8 seconds though..
But we started out the
week with an exchange from Monday night to Tuesday night. That
was with the Quail Creek North Elders who we share a ward with. That was fun!
We biked 18 miles and I was pretty sore afterwards haha. Its fun biking though
and I miss it! After a whole year on my bike I’m now in a car area so we don’t
get to bike as much.
Wednesday we
had DLC (District Leader Council) and we found out that there are some things
going on in our zone that are not good at all. So we then had to deal with
other missionary’s stupidity... After that we went down to Mustang so I could
practice my musical number with Elder Gonzales for the big Dual Mission
Conference that we are going to on Saturday! We will be performing an
arrangement of "I Stand All Amazed". And I realize now that I forgot
to tell all y’all but the apostle that will be coming to this big conference is
Elder D. Todd Christofferson!! I’m so excited for that! I’m way nervous too!
Out of 400 missionaries to do a musical number, they asked me and Elder
Gonzales of all people... Anyhow, pray that it goes well! We'll be shipping out
to Tulsa Saturday morning at 5:30! Crazy stuff!
Thursday we went
on exchanges with some Elders up in Edmond. That was rough. They were some of
the missionaries that were being stupid. I have a hard time being nice to
missionaries like that. We had an interesting time with some stern correction
which I don’t like doing but has to be done sometimes...
Then Friday, we
were in Edmond for District meeting and that went really well. But when we got
home our water wasn’t working... so we had to go without water for a day. Turns
out that the main water line had burst so when it came back on that night, we
had to run the water cuz it was all sorts of gross and nasty!
Then on Saturday,
Jay got baptized!! So exciting!! It was such a blessing to be a part of it!
After teaching him for 4 weeks, he was baptized on February 13th, 2016! His lifelong
friend, Rob Davy, drove out to Oklahoma from South Jordan Utah to baptize him!
They grew up just down the street from each other and it was awesome to see
them reunite after 25 years! Then He was confirmed on Sunday the 14th.
That was so awesome to see. I was all around amazing! Jay has come a long way
from drugs and alcohol to a member of the Church! The Gospel has so much
ability to change lives!
Monday, (yesterday)
we had our monthly STM with the Zone. And I found out that Elder Haws had
invited our mission president to come! So that put a little pressure on us
haha. But it all went well! We also went to the zoo as a zone. That was pretty
crazy! There were tons of people there and it was a fun time! This week was
full of its ups and downs. It was all amazing to be a part of. Just remember
that the Gospel is there to help us. It’s our way back to Heavenly
Father.
2 Nephi 31:21
There is only
one name under heaven whereby man can be saved and that is Jesus Christ. He's
the only way!
Love y’all and have a
great week!
Elder Walker
