Hey Y’all!
This week has been an interesting one for us. We started
out on Monday with an amazing STM and training from our Stake
President, President Gray, on how we can better work with our bishops and ward
councils.
Then we had our zone temple day on Tuesday! That was a really
neat experience to be able to go to the temple with the whole zone like that!
The temple here is such a blessing! It was a wonderful opportunity for me to
spiritually recharge and receive some revelation. Then for the rest of the day
we were able to be on exchanges with the assistants in Moore. We are trying it
a new way where both missionaries go to their area and split up. So that was a
good time! We had some fun and taught some good lessons. We slept all 4 of us
in a row in their room so that was interesting... haha
The family that we had dinner with that night ended up giving us (me,
elder haws and 1 of the assistants) food poisoning so that was rough. We both
got it bad. I think I would rather die than get that again... It was miserable!
Because of it we had to cancel and move some of our appointments that we had on Wednesday. That’s
never good but there was no way that we could have gone to those and been
productive.
Thursday we
went on exchanges with Edmond 4. I stayed in our area with Elder Munson and we
had a great exchange! We were able to teach some good lessons and had some
spiritual experiences together. Then Friday we went to the District
meeting in Edmond and that was really good. We went to Fuzzy's Tacos for lunch
and that was really good too!
Saturday we
had our meeting to plan for our meeting with President Gray Sunday morning.
We also went down to mustang to practice for the musical number that me and
Elder Gonzales will be doing in Tulsa in a few weeks. It has been a busy week
with lots of ups and downs and everything in between! Things are going great
and the work is going good. Jay Hardy is as solid as ever and came to church on
Sunday! He's set for baptism on Feb 13th! We are so excited for him!
This
week as I was sitting in the temple reading the Scriptures, there was a verse
that really stood out to me. Its Matthew 16:25 which reads:
25 For whosoever will
save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my
sake shall find it.
It really got me thinking.
This verse gives us an amazing promise! It says that if we lose our lives in
the service of Christ and His Gospel we will find them. What a wonderful
promise! What can you do to lose your life for Christ's sake?
Love y’all and hope that y’all have a
wonderful week!
Elder Walker
Heres us and the zone at the temple!! Love it!
